Getting started
What userken is, how you get in, and what the workspace and the credit balance mean before you spend anything.
What userken is
userken turns public opinion data into audiences you can question. It clusters the real people behind that data into personas, then runs those personas as respondents in surveys and focus groups, with real quotes retrieved behind every answer. It reports how close that method gets to real held-out answers on a public accuracy page, rather than asking you to take the output on trust.
Two interfaces, one product: the web dashboard at /app, and an MCP server so Claude can use the same tools and the same audiences.
Signing in
Sign-in is by magic link only. There are no passwords to set, rotate or leak.
- A workspace admin invites you, or you request access from the pricing page.
- Go to
/loginand type your email address. - Open the link in the email. It is valid for 60 minutes and works once.
- You land back where you were headed, signed in. The session cookie keeps you signed in across both hosts.
Ask your workspace admin to resend the invitation from Settings. Links are single use, so an old email in your inbox will not work a second time.
The workspace
Everything you make belongs to a workspace: audiences, surveys, runs, focus group sessions and uploads. Everyone in the workspace sees the workspace's rows and shares its credit balance. No workspace ever sees another workspace's rows.
The left navigation is the whole product:
- Audiences at
/app/audiences: the built-ins, your saved audiences, and the builder. - Surveys at
/app/surveys: structured questions and their results. - Focus groups at
/app/focus-groups: moderated sessions with a handful of personas. - Sources at
/app/sources: what the corpus is made of, and where you upload your own CSVs. - Accuracy at
/app/accuracy: the current evaluation. - Settings at
/app/settings: your profile, the workspace, members and API keys.
Credits
Work that calls a model is metered in credits. Reading, browsing, previewing an audience filter and exporting cost nothing.
Your plan includes a number of credits each month; the month runs from the anniversary of the day the plan started, not the calendar month. Credit packs you buy sit outside that allowance and never expire, and your included credits are always spent first.
The balance is on /app/billing, and the survey wizard and focus group room show what the next action will cost before you commit to it. Exact prices are on Plans and credits.
Your first half hour
A good first half hour, spending very little:
- Open
/app/audiencesand pick a built-in audience. Look at its personas and their weights. - Ask that audience one question from the survey wizard. Three samples per persona is the default and is enough to see the shape of an answer.
- Open the result. Read the per-persona breakdown and the verbatims before you read the headline number.
- Open a focus group with the same audience and ask the same question in words. The two views disagree in useful ways.
Before you act on any number, read Accuracy. It says what the method is measured to do and where it is known to be wrong.
