Use case

Focus groups

Moderate a conversation with five to eight personas and follow the thread.

The problem

Why this is hard today.

A survey answers the question you thought to ask. The thing you needed was the aside somebody made in minute forty of a group, which is exactly what a recruited, scheduled, transcribed focus group costs thousands of dollars and three weeks to get.

How userken does it

Four steps.

  1. Pick an audience and open a session. Five to eight personas join, each grounded in the real reviews its cluster came from.
  2. Moderate: ask, interrupt, probe a single participant, change direction.
  3. Every reply is grounded in real review text, and the transcript is saved with the review ids used.
  4. Close the session and get a summary you can paste into a brief.
start_focus_group

Open a moderated session against an audience.

focus_group_turn

Ask the group, or one participant, the next question.

Focus group session

In-app session with live transcript and summary.

Tool names are the MCP tools and in-app templates. The same engines power both.

Illustration: why people turn news notifications off

  • Audience: news category reviewers whose reviews mention alerts or notifications.
  • Opening question: walk me through the last time you turned notifications off.
  • What you would do: probe the one participant who said they turned them back on, which is the answer the survey version of this would have missed.
